What it means to be live on DAY ONE
Your sponsor should not have to take “live” on trust. Live means your team runs the agreed work in DAY ONE and knows who owns what next. The system sets up quickly; your data, people and connected systems set the pace. About 30 days is the target for a straightforward scope.
The acceptance record
Five checks, agreed with your sponsor before work starts and reviewed together at handover. Change a status to see how it reads.
3 demonstrated, 1 rehearsed with live use awaited, 1 open.
| Check | What your team should be able to show | Example status |
|---|---|---|
| Agreed starting scope | The first teams, engagements, billing models and connected systems are named, with exclusions and later work listed. | |
| Your data checked | The data for the agreed scope is loaded and checked with you, and every gap has an owner. | |
| Real work and billing | An in-scope engagement runs in DAY ONE and finance can see what is ready to bill. If no invoice falls in the period, we rehearse billing and schedule the first live one. | |
| People ready to use it | Named people in sales, delivery and finance can do the steps they own and know where to get help. | |
| Ownership after go-live | The sponsor has the open items, their owners, the next review date and the support route. |
What sets the pace
DAY ONE is quick to set up. These three take the time, and we plan them with you from the start.
Data migration
How much you bring across and how clean it is. We load and check the data for your first scope. A large historical migration is scoped separately.
Change management
How fast your team takes up the new steps. You need a sponsor who can decide and people with time each week.
Connected systems
Your accounting system and other tools depend on your systems and partners, so the connection can run past week four.
Questions about acceptance
Can't see your question? Ask us directly.
Who agrees what is in scope?
Your sponsor and DAY ONE agree the first operating footprint before work starts. The acceptance record names the teams, workflow and any exclusions.
Do we have to send a set number of invoices?
No fixed invoice count is proposed for the public Quickstart example. We check the billing path using your real cycle. If the first live invoice is later, we record the rehearsal and the date for the live review.
What if a check is not ready?
We record the gap, its owner and the next action. Your sponsor can see what has been demonstrated and what remains open.
What does the handover include?
The agreed records, completed walkthroughs, training, open items, support route and next review date.
Do we need the accounting connection live to be accepted?
Not required. Acceptance covers invoices sent without an accounting connection. A connection is phased in afterwards.
