Give delivery the work that was actually sold

Delivery often learns what was sold from a long briefing. In DAY ONE the engagement holds the scope, rates and billing model that were agreed, so your team runs the work from them.

Start with the question delivery asks

Pick the question that comes up mid-engagement to see where in the path it starts.

The question that keeps coming up

Starts at Proposal

The engagement holds the scope, rates, billing model, schedule and tasks that were agreed. Delivery reads them from the same record finance bills from.

Start from the engagement, not a briefing

The engagement holds the scope, rates and billing model that were agreed, with its schedule and tasks. Delivery and finance read the same record from the first day. There is no separate handover checklist; the engagement is the handover.

When the client asks for more

Extra work becomes a new contract within the existing engagement, so it has its own terms before time is logged against it. A signed contract is not edited in place.

People are placed on the engagement and log their time against its contracts. A status view shows completed work, upcoming work and exceptions from the delivery record.

      Send finance a clear position

Finance needs to know what was done, what is approved and which items remain open, read from the same record delivery ran the work from.

      Done

Time is entered against the engagement it was worked on.

      Approved

A manager approves it, or a business-unit rule does, before it reaches an invoice.

      Open

Items still open are visible before an invoice goes out.

      Questions delivery leaders ask

Can't see your question? Ask us directly.

How do we see what sales agreed?

The engagement holds the scope, rates, billing model, schedule and tasks that were agreed. Delivery reads them from the same record finance bills from.

What if a client asks for more work?

A change request becomes a new contract within the existing engagement, so the extra work has its own terms before it reaches an invoice. A signed contract is not edited in place.

      Does time need manager approval?

Manager approval is optional or can be automatic, set as a process rule for each business unit.

Is this a resourcing tool too?

DAY ONE places people onto engagements and logs their time for billing. If you plan demand and capacity another way now, tell us how and we will say where DAY ONE fits.

What does it cost and how long to start?

The Pricing page shows the price list and how your price is built. Quickstart is scoped with your team, so it is not in the licence price. Ask us and we will explain the work involved for your firm.

How do we avoid chasing people for time entries?

Time can be logged from a task on the board, and the weekly time card shows hours against expected hours. Email reminders go to people with draft time. No utilisation prediction is claimed.

How does our team hand a clear position to finance?

Approved time becomes work in progress. Finance sees it, traces any line to its source, and approves the invoice. Delivery's position and finance's position come from the same record.

Do we have to replace our project tools?

No. Keep your project tools. DAY ONE holds the commercial record behind them.
